iPhone 5 Release Date Remain Unsolved, However iOS 5 Will Deliver Over The Air Updates?

Many of us are eagerly waiting to know the iPhone 5 release date. The apple iPhone 5 will be the sparkle in the future, although Apple has not revealed what it’ll entail, iPhone 5 launch date is expected to be  in July 2011.

Update(13th April): Here is again rumor that iPhone 5 release date is scheduled to September 2011 or early 2012. According to press note by Avian Securities, Apple’s next gen iPhone 5 should go in production in July and will be available in September 2011 that leading us to predict that iPhone 5 will not hit stores till late 2011 or early 2012.

“Multiple sources say the new feature will debut in iOS 5, meaning iOS 5 will not come over-the-air but following point updates to it will. Just like tethering in iOS 3, Apple has the technology but cannot just unleash it everywhere. Apple and Verizon Wireless are said to have been in talks over these wireless software updates since early this year.”

What this means is you can essentially upgrade future supported iOS devices by downloading the new iOS over 3G or WiFi without the use of iTunes at all! It’s good to note that Android devices already have this feature, and it looks like Apple isn’t far behind.

Since iOS updates are about 500MB in file, downloading over 3G will take bandwidth and thus Apple needs to negotiate to AT&T and Verizon directly. If one or the other agrees to this feature, then it’s in the books the other will follow suit.

Currently Apple TV is the only one supporting over-the-air updates due to backups and sync files being much smaller than that of any other iOS device. Would you love this feature? Would you use it?
